Service dogs for the win 🐕‍🦺 🦮

You probably already know that Pets in Space 8 authors donate 10% of the preorders and first month’s profits to the charity, but maybe we haven’t told you why.

Hero Dogs raises and trains service dogs and provides them free of charge to their clients. They support that partnership for life.

Modern medicine is a marvel and gets better every year. Injuries that would have been fatal even ten years ago are now survivable. Where we still need improvement is in long-term support for these survivors.

That’s where service dogs shine. A helping paw can make all the difference in helping a disabled veteran or first-responder regain independence and improve quality of life. And isn’t that what we would all like for the people we respect and love?

Since not all dogs are suitable for a one-on-one pairing, Hero Dogs also trains dogs to work in facilities, such as rehabilitation centers. Unconditional love from a dog can help motivate people to move, even when it hurts. And trained therapy dogs can be a warm and furry lifeline for kids who are afraid, or elders who are slipping into dementia.

By buying a copy of Pets in Space 8 before November 11 (U.S. Veteran’s Day), you’ll become part of something warm and wonderful.

P.S. If you’ve already bought a copy, thank you! Might we suggest that Pets in Space 8 makes a great gift for friends and family? 🐕
